To this day, he remains the record holder with five titles. Before that first title, Jimmy was a loyal driver for the local brand, Vauxhall. In 1980, he competed in his final race with the brand at the legendary RAC Rally. Fresh off his title win on Irish tarmac, Jimmy McRae wanted to shine in his swan song with the Vauxhall Chevette 2300 HSR. While battling for a top-five finish, Jimmy crashed on SS31 and was forced to retire.
