Corgi Model Club 1:46 - Rover 2000 TC, Green - 275
One the most iconic Corgi Toys of the 1960s, the Austin A60 ‘De Luxe Saloon’ Motor School Car featured a red wheel on its roof that enabled the model to steer. There was even an accompanying ‘learn to drive’ leaflet in the box – perfect for young learner drivers!
Introduced in June 1964, Corgi 236 was right-hand drive but was complemented by an otherwise identical left-hand drive version for the export market, Corgi 255. Corgi 236 came in a slightly lighter blue than its left-hand drive counterpart. Both stayed in production until 1968. Perhaps unsurprisingly the quintessentially British Austin A60 didn’t help sales abroad, Corgi 236 out-selling 255 by around two to one. Both versions came with a miniature instructor and learner driver.
