  • This Aston Martin DBS was issued by MI6 to the newly installed 007 as his company vehicle during a high-stakes poker tournament held at the Casino Royale in Montenegro. Equipped with a secure glove compartment for firearms and medical equipment, the vehicle was destroyed in spectacular fashion by James Bond while he was racing to save the life of British Treasury Agent Vesper Lynd.

The Aston Martin DBS vehicles used in Casino Royale were hand-built prototypes, a necessity as the car had yet to enter full production while the film was being shot. Two hero vehicles and three stunt vehicles were manufactured for use in the film, with one of those used to accomplish the film’s most impressive stunt when Bond crashes the car while in pursuit of Vesper.

Shot on the Hill Route at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, UK, the low centre of gravity of the DBS made flipping the vehicle exceedingly difficult until a nitrogen powered air cannon was installed in the rear of the car. The resulting crash saw the vehicle rotate seven times in the air, which was later confirmed as a new Guinness World Record.
